How this site handles personal data, consistent with the Data Protection Act, 2019.
Who we are
Wazo Africa LLP, a limited liability partnership registered in Kenya, is the data controller for this website. Contact: info@wazo.co.ke.
What we collect
- Forms. When you use the contact form or the “engage us” form, we collect the details you provide (such as your name, organisation, email and message) so that we can respond.
- Comments. When you comment on a working paper we collect your name, email and comment, your IP address and browser string. Your name and comment are published if approved; your email and IP address are not published.
- Server logs. Our web server records standard request logs (IP address, page, time, user agent) for security and troubleshooting.
How we use it
To respond to enquiries, to moderate and publish comments, to keep the site secure, and to understand which material is used. We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising.
Sharing
Form submissions and comment notifications are delivered to our email, which is hosted on Microsoft 365. Our website and mail server are hosted on a private server. We do not share your data with anyone else except where required by law.
Retention
Enquiry emails and form entries are kept for as long as needed to deal with the matter and our records of it. Approved comments remain published unless you ask us to remove them. Unapproved and spam comments are deleted periodically.
Your rights
You may ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to our use of it. Email info@wazo.co.ke. You may also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.
Cookies
This site sets a cookie only if you choose “save my details” on the comment form. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
